Handpainted Tin LizardGringas & Co. featured aritist this month is Miguel Angel. Miguel is a very talented, loving person who makes incredible, unique art. Angel was once a construction worker and was never taught formal art but uses a strong use of pattern, unrefined color and simplicity. Tin objects of various sizes and shapes are the canvases that Angel prepares for his paintings. Like many self-taught creators of a unique art form, Miguel Angel is inspired by the people and things that surround him in his every day life. Angel utilizes the local craft of the tin workers and draws inspiration from women who are left on their own to support themselves and to raise their children. He feels their pain and within their often broken and trampled upon hearts he finds enduring, natural beauty, deep faith and above all, a surprisingly vast capacity to love, to give and to forgive. The emotions and the messages he delivers in the simplisitic colors and beauty of nature that surround him and the lives of the women who inspire his work are honest and straightforward. The pain and the beauty simultaneously and instantaneously touch us all. You see all of this through his art. Each piece is personally signed by Miguel Angel and Gringas & Co. is the only distributor in the United States. One of the many great things about Miguel's art is that it be used indoor or outdoor. These great pieces are made out of tin and Miguel has a special process that he uses to make the pieces look like they are paper mache. All of his work sells very well and is not always in stock so please check under our "Great Travel Finds" to see which pieces of Miguels we have at this time. Please email us with any questions or call (361) 781-0991.Handpainted Tin 3- D Cross
